Business Leader Public Policy Discussion
Partnering together, the Hiawatha Economic Development Corporation (HEDCO), Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, Marion Chamber of Commerce and Marion Economic Development Corporation (MEDCO) will host a series of virtual public policy panels during this legislative session to speak directly to area legislators about the timely issues most important to the business community.
As the Iowa General Assembly convened this week, for what’s expected to be another unique session, legislators are having to rethink how they legislate due to the coronavirus, but we too have have to rethink how we advocate to have the CR Metro Area business voice continue to be heard at the Capitol.
The panel will consist of business leaders and will be moderated by one of our organizations. Legislators will have opportunities to react as part of the moderated discussion, and audience members will also have an opportunity to comment and/or ask questions of our state policy makers and panelists.
We will kick off the first “Business Leader Public Policy Discussion” series on Friday, January 22nd from 3-4 PM. RSVP here.
For the first discussion we will focus on policies that spur growth in our region. From housing to broadband and redevelopment, these issues are instrumental as we continue to recovery from the pandemic and natural disaster.
